Located 37 kms north of Colombo, Negombo is a characteristic fishing town. Amidst the lush groves of coconut palms, the town breathes the spirit of the sea. With plenty of sea food available within the town’s vicinity, it is a veritable paradise for the gourmet.

Attractions
Sea food is the prime attraction of this place. For the sea food buffs there is no better place in Sri Lanka than this small town. A place which cannot be missed out! Seer, skipjack, herring and mullet, pomfret, amber jack, lobsters and prawns are popular delicacies here. One can see various old world fishing crafts like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran bringing home a variety of these pisceans.

Getting There
Reaching Negombo is quite easy for the tourists. One can hire a tourist cab or any taxi and zoom out of Colombo, only 37 kms away, into this fishing town.
